Location: Stephenville
$18.00 hourly/ 35 hours per week for 8 weeks
Combination of in-person and remote work.
Job is from May 20 - July 15

• Be registered as a full-time student for the 2025-2026 academic year;
• Intend to return to full-time studies in September; and
• Identify as Indigenous
o Priority must be given to registered members of Qalipu First Nation but if no eligible Qalipu members are
available, Qalipu will help the Town of Stephenville identify a suitable candidate or exploring an alternative
solutions

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

The Indigenous Recreation Assistant will be responsible for assisting with organizing and implementing special events
for our community. Special events include but are not limited to:
• leading the facilitation of a 4-week Dodgeball Program and
• assisting with Canada Day celebrations.

Note: the Glow Dodgeball program, including session lesson plans, will already be designed. Summer student will be
provided a dodgeball program manual that they can pick up and follow to run a session. The student will be expected to
participate in 8 days of onboarding and training, prior to the start of Glow Dodgeball, to learn about how to run the
program. The student will learn about safe sport in Canada, concussions - making headway in sport, respect in sport,
the Rule of Two, program policies, and reporting procedures.
